Aluminium Green Roof Edge Retention Trim - 2.4m Length

The Aluminium Green Roof Edge Trim is a lightweight yet highly durable perimeter retention profile designed specifically for use within green and living roof systems across the UK. Manufactured from 1050A aluminium, this green roof edge trim provides a clean, effective boundary that retains growing substrates, pebbles, and planting media at the roof perimeter while allowing rainwater to drain freely through precision laser-cut slots.

Each 2.4m length of green roof edge trim features 30 laser-cut drainage slots per metre, ensuring consistent and reliable water flow across the full length of the profile. These slots are engineered to allow free drainage while preventing even fine substrate particles from escaping the planted area, a critical function that protects both the green roof system and surrounding drainage infrastructure.

The base of each green roof edge trim section includes 6 pre-cut fixing holes to allow firm bonding or strapping to the roof membrane when additional anchorage is required. This is particularly important on exposed or elevated roof installations where wind uplift could otherwise displace unsecured edging.

Every green roof edge trim length is supplied with a matching joiner connector, also featuring the same laser-cut slot pattern for both drainage continuity and a consistent visual appearance along the roofline. These connectors can be used for straight joints or easily bent on site to form internal or external angle connections, no specialist tools or fabrication required.

Available in a comprehensive range of 8 face depths from 50mm to 300mm, this green roof edge trim can accommodate everything from shallow extensive sedum blanket systems through to deeper intensive planting build-ups with substantial substrate layers. Two thickness options 1.5mm and 2mm provide additional flexibility to match the structural requirements of different project types and wind loading conditions.
