Base Board

The Planter Base Board is a solid aluminium platform profile that forms the deck surface within the Metal Planters terrace planter system. Measuring 260mm wide, 25mm deep, and supplied in 3.6m lengths, this planter base board sits on the baseboard rail sub-frame and provides the stable, level surface onto which planter units are positioned.

The generous 260mm width of this planter base board allows efficient coverage of the planter base area with fewer boards than narrower alternatives. This reduces the number of joints in the platform surface and speeds up installation, delivering a cleaner, more consistent base for the planters to sit on.

At 25mm deep, the planter base board provides substantial structural rigidity. This depth ensures the planter base board does not flex or deflect under the considerable weight of filled planters containing growing media, water, and established plants. The planter base board maintains a flat, level surface even under sustained heavy loading.

The planter base board is manufactured from aluminium, providing natural corrosion resistance that is essential in outdoor terrace environments. Unlike timber boarding that can absorb moisture, swell, warp, and eventually rot, the aluminium planter base board maintains its dimensions and structural performance indefinitely. The planter base board is secured to the baseboard rail sub-frame using pan head screws, creating a firm, fixed deck surface. The screw fixings allow individual planter base board sections to be removed if access to the sub-frame or waterproof membrane below is required for maintenance or inspection.
