Tile Support Rail

The Tile Support Rail is a specialist aluminium profile designed to provide secure, consistent edge support for porcelain and stone tile surfaces within the Metal Planters terrace system. Measuring 27mm x 60mm and supplied in 3.6m lengths, this tile support rail is engineered specifically for tile terrace installations where precise, stable support is critical to preventing cracking, lipping, and premature wear.

Tile surfaces require support along their edges to maintain a level, professional finish. Unlike timber or composite decking boards that can flex slightly without consequence, porcelain and stone tiles are rigid and brittle. Without a proper tile support rail providing consistent bearing along tile edges, tiles can develop stress points that lead to cracking under foot traffic, furniture loading, or thermal expansion and contraction.

The tile support rail profile provides a flat, stable bearing surface that supports tiles at their perimeters. This ensures every tile sits level and flush with its neighbours, eliminating the risk of lipping where tile edges sit higher than adjacent tiles. Lipping is not only a visual defect but also a trip hazard that can create liability issues on commercial and public access terraces.
